Career Connect Washington (CCW) Program Intermediary Grant

The Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs (CHA) and its partners were awarded a round two, $250K Career Connect Washington (CCW) Program Intermediary grant, administered by the WA State Employment Security Department.  Program Intermediary grants are primarily for the planning and development of Career Launch programs. The grant period is February 15, 2020, through Feb 15, 2021.

Project Summary

CHA and its partners will develop three CCT Academy model programs in Washington, based on IBM’s national and international P-TECH high school career academy program. The project will adapt and scale the P-TECH model to align with CCW’s Career Launch program. The development of the Career Connect Tech Academy model will focus on the needs and assets of the Hispanic/Latinx communities, as well as other student populations that are furthest from opportunity (e.g., students living in poverty, students of color).

Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs selected as a grant recipient from Career Connect Washington (CCW)

THIS WORK IS BUILT ON THE STRENGTH OF THE LEADERSHIP OF OUR PARTNERS, ADVOCATES, AND SUPPORTERS.

The Commission on Hispanic Affairs would like to reiterate our deepest appreciation for your leadership and engagement as we approach nearly three years of collaboration to bring the P-TECH model to Washington State. The proposal of the CCT academies would see three (3) pilot communities develop career launch programs while also developing a program manual to be scaled throughout Washington.
